Celebrating God’s Faithfulness, Community Support, and Progress Toward Accreditation
As the season of Thanksgiving approaches, Summit Christian University (SCU) has much to be thankful for. From the faithfulness of God to the encouragement of local pastors and churches, the dedication of our faculty and students, and the progress being made toward accreditation, we are reminded that the work God has called us to do is bigger than any one individual or institution.
At SCU, our mission extends beyond the classroom. We are committed to providing educational opportunities that prepare students academically, professionally, and spiritually while remaining grounded in biblical truth. We are grateful for every student who has chosen to pursue an education with us, every faculty member who invests in the lives of our students, and every supporter who believes in the vision God has given us.
Thankful for Our Local Pastors and Churches
One of the greatest blessings of Summit Christian University is the support and encouragement we receive from local pastors, churches, and ministry leaders. Their prayers, partnerships, and commitment to Christian education help strengthen the foundation upon which SCU continues to grow.
The local church plays a vital role in developing future ministry leaders, and we are thankful for the pastors who recognize the importance of equipping individuals with biblical knowledge, practical skills, and a strong foundation in their faith. Whether through encouraging students to pursue higher education, sharing information about our programs, or supporting the university’s mission, these partnerships are an important part of our story.
We believe Christian education and the local church can work together to prepare individuals to serve their families, churches, communities, and workplaces with integrity and purpose. We are grateful to the pastors and congregations who stand alongside us as we continue this mission.
Thankful for Progress Toward Accreditation
Another significant reason for thankfulness is the progress Summit Christian University is making through the accreditation process with the Association for Biblical Higher Education (ABHE).
The accreditation journey has required dedication, careful evaluation, institutional reflection, and a great deal of work from our administration, faculty, staff, and supporters. This process has challenged us to examine our policies, strengthen our procedures, evaluate our educational practices, and continue building a strong foundation for the future of the university.
In September, SCU welcomed an ABHE evaluation team to campus for meetings, interviews, tours, and an examination of the university’s operations and educational environment. The visit provided an opportunity to demonstrate the work taking place at SCU and to receive valuable feedback as we continue working toward meeting accreditation standards.
We are thankful for the guidance received throughout this process and for the individuals who have worked diligently to address requirements and improve institutional effectiveness. While the accreditation process is ongoing and a final decision has not yet been reached, we remain committed to fulfilling the standards expected of an institution of biblical higher education.
We recognize that accreditation is not simply a destination. It is part of our commitment to accountability, continuous improvement, and providing quality Christian higher education while remaining faithful to our biblical foundation.
Thankful for Our Students, Faculty, and Supporters
Behind every milestone at SCU are people who make the work possible. Our students bring their goals, experiences, and God-given callings into the classroom. Our faculty share their knowledge and experience while encouraging students to grow in wisdom and faith. Our supporters, families, churches, and community partners help make educational opportunities possible.
We are especially thankful for the students who balance education with work, family responsibilities, church involvement, and other commitments. Their determination reminds us why accessible Christian higher education matters.
Every completed course, every new student, every strengthened partnership, and every step forward in the accreditation process gives us another reason to pause and give thanks.
Looking Ahead with Faith and Gratitude
As Summit Christian University looks toward the future, we do so with gratitude for what God has already accomplished and anticipation for what lies ahead. We understand that growth requires patience, hard work, and a willingness to keep learning. We also recognize the importance of prayer, faithful service, and the support of the community around us.
Scripture reminds us in Proverbs 3:5–6 to trust in the Lord with all our hearts and acknowledge Him in all our ways. That reminder continues to guide us as we navigate the opportunities and challenges of higher education and pursue our mission.
This Thanksgiving season, we extend our heartfelt appreciation to our local pastors, churches, faculty, students, families, and friends who have encouraged and supported Summit Christian University. Your prayers, partnership, and belief in Christian education make a difference.
From all of us at Summit Christian University, thank you for being part of our journey. We give God the glory for His faithfulness and look forward to continuing to serve our students and community through biblically grounded higher education.
“O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endures forever.” — Psalm 107:1 (KJV)
